Opal Play
Every lunchtime and playtime we invest in a wide range of activities to ensure every child has an amazing and active break. Children learn abour responsibility and teamwork in regular worships, which teach them how to enjoy the activites safely and to show respect for the resources.
Thanks to the Friend’s of St Mary’s who fundraised by planning and running our Christmas Fayre, raising thousands of pounds for the School, some of which has been spent on new Opal Play resources to continue to enrich the children’s playtimes. We are currently requesting donations of Lego and Duplo.
“I enjoy playing with the Lego because I can build with my friends, so I learn about teamwork.” Ilian, Year 3
“I prefer sports, playing football, cricket and four square, it’s fun to do and they help my body to be healthy and I learn new skills.” Gustavo Year 3
“I play with my friends, we build a house together, or we can read quietly.” Liz, Year 3
“I played with the spaghetti, it was all curly and we played shop games. There are Opal play rules and they help you because when you follow the rules, everyone is safe and they have a great time.” Azariah, Year 4
