Young Marketeers Planting Session

Year 4 had a wonderful planting session as part of our Young Marketeers Courageous Advocacy Project. We began by discussing what plants need to stay healthy and grow, including sunlight, water, air and nutrients from the soil. The children also enjoyed matching different seeds to the fruits and vegetables they produce.

We then got busy planting beans and peas in pots, as well as a variety of other seeds in the planting beds in our Forest School garden. The children showed great enthusiasm and care as they prepared the soil and sowed their seeds.

Over the coming months, we will look after our crops and watch them grow. Once harvested, the produce will be sold at Borough Market, with all proceeds being donated to charities that support people in need within our community.

This project is helping the children develop their understanding of sustainability, enterprise and social responsibility, while making a positive difference to others.
