Pupil Premium at St Mary’s CE School
At St Mary’s CE School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Pupil Premium funding is used carefully and strategically to reduce barriers to learning and to support disadvantaged pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Our approach reflects our Christian values and our belief that every child is known, valued and supported.

How We Use Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium funding is used to support a range of strategies, informed by research and tailored to the needs of our pupils. These include:
- High-quality teaching and targeted classroom support
- Additional intervention programmes to address gaps in learning
- Pastoral and emotional wellbeing support
- Attendance monitoring and targeted support
- Access to enrichment activities, educational visits and wider opportunities
Our decisions are guided by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and ongoing assessment of pupil need and impact.
Measuring Impact
We closely monitor the impact of our Pupil Premium spending through:
- Regular assessment and progress tracking
- Attendance and behaviour monitoring
- Pupil, parent and staff feedback
- Ongoing evaluation by school leaders and governors
This ensures funding is used effectively and adjusted where necessary to meet pupils’ needs.
Accountability and Governance
The Headteacher, senior leaders and governors work together to ensure that Pupil Premium funding is used appropriately and has a positive impact on the outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. Governors receive regular reports and challenge leaders to ensure continuous improvement.
