Wellbeing
There are many ways that we promote the wellbeing of every child at St Mary's.
Opal Play
See more photos on our Opal Play page!
Thanks to the Friend’s of St Mary’s who fundraised by planning and running our Christmas Fayre, raising thousands of pounds for the School, some of which has been spent on new Opal Play resources to continue to enrich the children’s playtimes. We are currently requesting donations of good condition dressing up clothes (police, fairy tales, princesses and superheroes).
Breakfast Bagels
Every child gets a great start to the day at St Mary's! Early morning work starts as soon as the children come into class and there is always a supply of hot, buttered bagels to ensure every child is fuelled for a busy day of learning. Children have access to fruit at playtimes as well.
Supervised toothbrushing programme in the Early Years
We recognise the importance of developing good oral hygiene habits as early as possible, so we have partnered with Kings College Hospital's Oral Health Promotion Team to deliver a supervised toothbrushing programme in Nursery and Reception classes.
We provide toothbrushes and toothpaste in classrooms so that children can practise brushing their teeth after lunch every day with guidance from trained staff.

Transforming Lives for Good
Every year, we are blessed to welcome an amazing team of mentors to St Mary's. They work closely with children in Year 6 to build children's confidence and independence, through a range of fun activities every week.
Winter Warmers
During the cold weather, our Young Leaders have been serving hot drinks in the playground at lunchtime. The children have enjoyed warming Hot Chocolate and Fruit Tea!
Forest School
In the heart of a big city, we are so lucky to have the oasis of our Forest School garden, a space for children to explore, imagine, create and breathe!

Sailing
Year 5 enjoyed 5 weeks of Sailing on the Millwall Dock at London's Docklands. They learnt many new skills and used courage, perseverance and teamwork to make great progress. Everyone learned to sail independently in a 2 person boat and they gained their Royal Yachting Association certificates!
