Lying at the heart of our new Forest School will be some beautiful artwork created by the children of St Mary’s. In keeping with the natural theme, each child decorated a piece of wood which will be incorporated into the Forest School design.
Supported by an amazing team of volunteers, the first step was to clear the site. All of the rubbish was removed and the overgrown weeds and brambles were cut back and cleared.
A patch of unused wasteland next to St Mary's Primary School was overgrown and filled with rubbish. The School had a vision to transform this area into a Forest school garden to benefit the local Community. Consultation with local residents and stakeholders followed, before grant funding was secured and contractors were invited to share designs for how the space could be turned into a wonderful outdoor resource to promote physical and mental health.
