Our children receive many exciting opportunities to develop their musical skills at St Mary's - click on the button below to find out more!
Music Concert 2024
We were so excited to present our first ever Musical Concert, which was enjoyed by parents and all of the children in the school. This event showcased the wide range of musical talent at St Mary's as children have learned many different instruments - trumpet, brass band, recorder, guitar, percussion and choir. Well done everyone who practised hard to perform and entertain the School Community. Music lessons will continue in the Autumn Term - so please sign up for lessons and your child could be sharing their musical talents at the next concert!

Congratulations to our Bursary students!
Every week, children in Years 4, 5 and 6 have been enjoying trumpet lessons at St Mary's. The culmination of their music lessons this year was a wonderful concert enjoyed by the whole school. In addition, we are very proud that 2 of our students have been awarded a Bursary, in order for them to be able to access additional lessons and to support them to make even more progress in learning to play an instrument.
African Drumming 2021 - Whole School workshops and performance
Every child enjoyed a fantastic workshop before our most talented drummers rehearsed and performed to the whole school.
Art Workshops
Some of our Most Able artists enjoyed extension workshops with a local artist. They used clay to explore artwork from different cultures and historical periods, you can see their finished artwork displayed around the school.
African Drumming
Working in partnership with a local charity, we are delighted that the children of St Mary’s will be able to enjoy a whole year of African drumming workshops. These will be offered to our Year 3 children and also to all children in KS2 as an after-school club. The children will be learning from an experienced and talented performer. Concerts in partnership with the local community (including a local centre for elderly people) have been planned for the Summer Term. |
