Love
We learn about the power of Love, the many forms it can take and that Love isn't always easy. On this page you will find lots of links to resources and ideas to help you explore and reflect on the value of Love. You will also see many examples of this value in action at St Mary's.
Love News StoriesPrayers of Love
At our annual Prayer Day, the children shared their prayers on the theme of Love, before hanging them on our Prayer Tree. Children's reflections on the Value of Love included prayers for family, friends, those in times of need and the world we live in. You can read all of their prayers on the Prayer Tree which is displayed in our school hall. Lewisham Donation Hub
Our School Council visited the Donation Hub to share Love with our neighbours, who are busy helping the community. We received this message of thanks: "St Mary's Primary were one of the first beneficiaries of this project...before we even had a name. They were an absolute joy to work with. More importantly, seeing the teaching team fight so hard to put meal packs together for their kids was a great source of energy and inspiration for this project...and a good part of the reason why we are here today. With all that in mind, it was a real joy (after 3 long days of being open) to have the lovely children from St Mary's school council come up to the hub with a big thank you note (and some treats for the volunteers). We couldn't wish for better neighbours!" Community projects - help for the homeless
The children in Year 1 and Nursery have been reflecting on how they can help those in need. Following the words of our school vision ‘Our work is founded on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ’, the children decided to collect items to be donated to the homeless. The children encouraged many generous donations from our families. Staff from St Mary’s travelled to Central London in order to distribute the items. All of the donations were gratefully received and will make a real difference to the homeless. |
