MONDAY 2ND OCTOBER
DAY 1: children have arrived safely on the Isle of Wight. Everyone had a good journey and children are all really looking forward to the week's activities!
THURSDAY 8th JUNE
DAY 4 - Another amazing day at PGL in the sunshine! Today's activities included rock climbing, Jacob's ladder (climbing a tall ladder with big gaps between each level) and archery. We can't believe it's our final evening on the Isle of Wight already, but we made sure we ended in style by dancing the night away at the an amazing Disco! More activities on Friday morning before we pack up and head home - we've had a great time but we also can't wait to see our families again!
WEDNESDAY 7th JUNE
DAY 3 - We are having a blast! Today, we conquered the zipwire, used maps to find our way around (orienteering) and had a go at fencing. Did you know that the sword that is used in fencing is called a foil? We also went on a sensory trail where we had to navigate our way through some tricky obstacles whilst being blindfolded. It was great to end the day singing around a campfire. We can't wait for tomorrow's activities!
TUESDAY 6th JUNE
Evening Games
DAY 2 - We ended the day with some fun team games in the sports field. We enjoyed the sunset at the end of another amazing day.
Kayaking on the Sea!
DAY 2 - A highlight of the week will surely be this opportunity to experience kayaking on the sea! After carefully listening to our instructors, we built our confidence in paddling in 2s and 3s in the beautiful setting of a beach a few minutes walk from the PGL site. It was a challenge for some of us but by the end, everyone had shown determination, courage and pride in learning and enjoying this new skill. We finished with some fun games in the sea - which involved everyone getting splashed! Luckily, it was another warm summers day, perfect for this activity.
Tuesday Activities
DAY 2 - The children have enjoyed an exciting morning of activities, including the vertical climbing challenge and survivor skills in the woods, where we learned to make shelters using teamwork and we also started fires using flint, steel and cotton wool! After a hearty lunch, this afternoon we are off to the sea for a fabulous canoeing activity! Everyone is very well, having a great time, impressing us with their behaviour and enjoying the sunny blue skies.
Early Morning Update
DAY 2 - Everyone slept well and it's another bright and sunny morning. We were up early to enjoy the peaceful daybreak, with the only sound the birds singing.
MONDAY 5th JUNE
Evening Activities
DAY 1 - After a delicious evening meal of chicken curry, lasagna, salad and cake, we enjoyed our first evening activities. Firstly, we enjoyed fun playground games with Mr Tientcheu. After some relay races, there was a teambuilding challenge to build a container for a water balloon. Our activity leader tested them by launching them from the steps - any balloons that survived were thrown at the activity leader!
Ferry, Arrival and Tour of the Site!
DAY 1 - We are safely arrived at PGL on the Isle of Wight. The children really enjoyed the Ferry ride across to the island and we have arrived in beautiful sunshine! We have met our activity leader for the week and she has given us a tour of the site. We have settled into our cabins and we can't wait to start our exciting activities!
