Children enjoy lots of exciting Forest School activities in our after school clubs!

Reception class had lots of fun in the Forest School garden playing noughts and crosses with foraged materials.

Year One had fun learning about plants that attract bees and planting them around the school. We learnt how bees are very important for our environment.

Our first session of stay and play in our new forest space started today with some songs and included a hunt for pine cones!
 
It was lovely to see some of the younger members of our community enjoying the forest space and exploring all the areas it has to offer. Some nursery children joined us too. After 30 minutes it was time to have a healthy snack and a warm cup of coffee.
 
These sessions are ideal for pre-school children to start socialising and enjoying a safe outdoor space.​ 

​Stay & Play Forest Friends will run every Thursday morning. Sessions are free and all are welcome.
 
Meet in the school office after school drop-off!

It was an honour for St Mary’s to celebrate the Grand Opening of our Community Forest School. We had the pleasure of welcoming many guests, including Bishop Karowei as well as the Mayor of  Lewisham, Damien Egan, who officially opened our Community Forest School Garden. ​

Thanks to our Year 6 pupils for showing the values of Responsibility and Teamwork to help prepare the garden for some Spring planting.

We want as many people as possible in our Community to enjoy the benefits of our Forest School, so we were pleased to host local teachers for a training session led by a Forest School Leader.
