We are very proud of the Year 2 children who represented us in the football tournament today. They showed all of their school values, played well and had lots of fun!
Today we learned the story of Mr Gumpy's outing. We acted it out and had lots of fun pretending to be all of the different characters.Today we were working on solving problems by working backwards. We knew that there were some animals in the zoo but we didn't know which ones. We did know that there were 20 legs in total, though. We found lots of different possible combinations of animals. We went to Greenwich Park for a workshop. We had a great time learning about plants and how they grow as part of our Science Topic. We also learned about food chains and the different types of trees in the park.
We had a wonderful time on World Book Day and we all dressed up as characters from non-fiction books. Look at some of our amazing costumes!
On our computing day, we made our own 'drag and drop' games using our click, drag and drop skills. We also explored how we can make characters perform tasks by writing and debugging simple programs.
We celebrated Chinese New Year in many different ways. We all wore red, our lovely parents helped us to do some Chinese crafts and writing, we did a dragon dance and ate delicious Chinese foods! We even started to write the story of 'The Great Race' using commas in our lists.
We had a visit from the local police and they showed us how the travel around! They helped us learn about how they keep us safe.
The children in Year 2 have chosen to support their local community by gardening in the Therapeutic Garden, set in the grounds of St Mary's Church. By cleaning, sweeping and planting bulbs and flowers, the children will help to create and maintain a space of peace and reflection for all members of our community to enjoy.
