Maths Problem Solving

Every half-term, the children at St Mary’s focus on a different Problem Solving skill in Maths and this term we learned about Logical Reasoning. In worship, Year 3 and Year 4 worked as a team to solve equations using symbols and crack a secret code, linked to their Communication topic. Back in class, Year 4 stepped up to the challenge and deciphered the secret messages, developing their resilience and teamwork. They had to work out which number each symbol represented, by reasoning and solving algebraic equations.
