Each class contributed some amazing artwork and reflective written work to this interactive journey in St Mary’s Church. The theme was holy week and each class followed in Jesus’ footsteps from his entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane. Next, we reflected on his arrest, trial, journey to the cross and crucifixion. Finally, we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus as he was given new life and we reflected on how Jesus is still with us in our lives today.
“I liked it when my friends welcomed me in Church with the palm leaves.” “The garden of Gethsemane was beautiful. I want to make one.” “I felt excited, happy, joyful, cheerful, peaceful and then sorrowful because Jesus died on the cross.” “I loved the Easter Journey because it reminded me that Jesus is in my heart.” “It made us feel like a member of the community.” “It made us feel like Jesus would be with us forever.” “I felt a close connection to Jesus.” “I felt like I was a disciple.” “I felt a part of the story as if I was involved.” “The Easter Journey made me feel like I was right beside Jesus every step of the way.” “I enjoyed the time to think deeply about how Jesus felt.” “I can appreciate how strong and brave Jesus really was.” “It made me feel like I was actually there with Jesus. I enjoyed the Easter Journey because we got our own palm crosses and we got to sing.” “Jesus was very forgiving and loving, even though someone has done wrong.” “It made me feel as if I went back in time and experienced the whole entire thing with Jesus, I enjoyed it because it made me feel closer with Jesus. I learnt that although Judas betrayed Jesus; Jesus forgave him anyway, which means we should always forgive one another.” Comments are closed.
